WILLOUGHBY, Ohio—Criminal Defense Attorney Matthew C. Bangerter, Founder of The Bangerter Law Office, recently sponsored a Happy Hour kick-off to support a donation drive for The Backpack Fund. This nonprofit organization ensures Lake County students have access to the school supplies and scholarships they need for their education. The kick-off raised awareness about the organization, resulting in financial support to purchase much-needed school supplies. Shortly after the event, Matt Parson, President of the Backpack Fund, reported that they collected $760 in monetary donations within two days following the launch.
The donation drive takes place up until July 30, 2022. Mia Severino, Sales and Marketing Coordinator with The Bangerter Law Office, will participate in the Backpack Fund distribution day. During distribution day, they will drive around in a school bus and drop off the collected donations to Lake County schools.
“It’s an honor to give back to the community by helping The Backpack Fund continue its excellent work of supporting students in need in Lake County,” says Matthew Bangerter. “We’re excited to see the early results of this campaign and look forward to providing students with everything they need to succeed in the upcoming school year.”
The Backpack Fund is a registered corporation and charity in Ohio. None of the staff at The Backpack Fund take salaries or make money through the organization. Nearly all donations go toward purchasing school supplies and creating scholarships for kids in Lake County. PayPal takes a processing fee of 1.99 percent, plus 49 cents of every donation. In addition, the organization uses a small amount of fundraising for essential operational expenses, including the website and filing documentation.
